Terry, there is a thread on here that is all handy hints, gadgets, etc. Go to search at top left corner of page and type in "hints and gadgets" it will come up in the search. There are some 87 or more pages of ideas. Hope this helps and Happy Trails in your new travel trailer.

While it may be true that clicking on the subscribe for this post, this works for those of us that know it is here...........however for new people viewing the boards, if it is at top of list, it will be there for them to view. So I am BUMPING again. LOL
By the way, I have subscribed to it and many others, wonderful feature, always go to my favorites first.

We spent our first winter in the RGV last year and were in Missoin. I am no expert on it, but have been told the wind is less the further inland you are. We had our awaning out all winter and it was tied down. Yes we had some wind, but it kept the bugs down and felt good on a warm day. You may want to try one of the parks further inland, there are many to choose from.

Great Rallies...........have been to about 4 of them and really like them. A little different from the FMCA as each day is sponsored by a diff. organization. Like one day might be Motor Home/Trailer Life another day Good Sam. You get the idea. Each day who ever is sponsoring it has an activity of their own with giveaways. I think you will like it. Sign up early.

Montana is a BIG state, not sure where you are going. I lived in Great Falls for 11 years and there is the Charles M. Russell musume. He was famous for western art. Also is Giant Springs, largest springs around, empties into the MO river there. There are also many dams along river there. Custers last stand is in eastern Montana. Google Montana and see what comes up. It sounds like you have plenty of time to have info sent to you. Great state, I miss it sometimes.
But then my X is there so guess I don't after all. LOL

I found the best thing for hanging lights on awning is the plastic holders used to clip on name tags. They have a clip on one end (use this to clip on awning) and a plastic strap on other end with a snap (use this to go around light strand and keep them there all the time) Works great for us and you can get those in packages in office supply at Walmart. I also have used them to hang many other things.

Any RGV Snowbirds going to FMCA rally??
Hi, we have been home sence April and finally going to take the moterhome out. We are leaving Tue. for a Safari rally in the Amana's then to Minn for FMCA rally. We were wondering if any of the RV,net people we met at the get together in Feb. were going to be there. Would love to get with you and maybe go out to eat or something. Let me know, I am taking my lap top so will be on line almost every day.

We took pawatt's advice last winter and stayed at a park for a week, visited a lot of parks and then took one we liked. It sure helps as so many people like different things in a park. We liked Sleepy Valley and are returning to it this next winter. Good luck with your search, and welcome to the RGV.

Not sure about July 18 - 19 - 20, we are going to the FMCA rally in ST. Paul and it end the 17, will leave there the 18th. Doing rallies July 1-5 at the Amana's (Safari rally) then headed up to Minn. for another Safari rally then the FMCA rally. Going to be a busy 3 weeks of rallies for us. Keep us posted on what you decide. Even if we don't make it back for the whole campout, maybe we can just pop in for awhile.

We applied for ours on May 5th and still hasn't come. Did get notice that it will be coming and got birth cert. back. We decided to just get the passport card and not the book. It is good for crossing into Mexico and Canada, but not flying to another country. It was alot cheeper also, and eaiser to carry with us. The are just starting to send cards out in June so it should be coming soon. Happy Travels or should I say HAPPY TRAILS hehehehehe

Too bad we had to postpone, we were really looking forward to it. Right now we are stitting in Stanwood, all bridges closed in this county. Can't go anywhere. What a mess this is. Have VCR recording pictures off news, so we will have record of this. Looks like our old rental house (we sold) is in flood area. Saw vidio on TV of a couple blocks past that house and flood water there. Have been wondering about our old home in CR, it was on 15th Ave. 800 blook. I am almost ready to head back to Texas where it was dry all winter. Keep us posted on any new date, and keep dry.

I was going to offer to bring some wood, was really planning on it. Roger went out and checked yesterday and it looks like son finished off our wood pile over the winter, so unless we can find some, guess we are out of luck.

I live only about 25 miles away and so far no tornadoes here. They seem to pop up all over the place, I really don't think there is any "SAFE" place from tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. At least Iowa has the emerg. sirrins that go off to warn you. We were in Florida a few years ago and tornadoes and no warning system. We will go and have fun, can always hang out in shower house if weather gets bad, have one big party that way. LOL
